Raphaël Pidoux

Raphaël Pidoux leads a brilliant career with the Trio Wanderer, performing on the greatest international stages: Wigmore Hall in London, Herkulessaal in Munich, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Musikverein in Graz, la Scala in Milan, as well as the festivals in Salzburg, Edinburgh and Osaka, amongst others.
Chamber music is a cornerstone of his career, although it does not keep him from his solo work or with artists such as Christophe Coin, Emmanuel Pahud and Raphaël Oleg, with the Manfred, Modigliani and Mosaïques Quartets, and with orchestras including Les Siècles with François-Xavier Roth and l’Orchestre du XVIIIe siècle. He has recorded with the octet Les Violoncelles Français, with Emmanuel Strosser, as well as with the Ensemble Stradivaria the complete sonatas of Jean-Louis Duport.
Raphaël Pidoux has received three Victoires de la Musique: in 1997, 2000 and 2009. Cello professor (Trio class) at the Regional Conservatory in Paris and the Paris Conservatory, he plays a cello by Goffredo Cappa (Saluzzo, 1680).
He is artistic director of “VioloncellenSeine,” a cello biennale, and vice president of the association “Talents & Violoncelles”.
