Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian studied voice at the Chantres du Centre de musique baroque de Versailles and then at the Paris Conservatory with P. Jaroussky, A. Scholl, R. Pichon, A. Le Bozec. He has performed the title roles in Handel’s Rinaldo (conducted by B. Cuiller) and Stradella’s San Giovanni Battista (conducted by D. Guillon), as well as Clerio Moro in Erismena by Cavalli (with L. G. Alarcón), Unulfo in Rodelinda by Handel (with E. Haïm), Marte in La Divisione del Mondo by Legrenzi, Ottone in Agrippina by Handel (with C. Rousset) and Nerone in Giulio Cesare by Handel (with C. Curnyn). He also appeared in Twelfth Night by Shakespeare at the Comédie-Française with staging by T. Ostermeier and premiered works by P. Raynaud and I. Fraisse. A winner of the Concours Jeunes Espoirs at the Opéra Grand-Avignon in 2015, he was also designated a ‘Révélation HSBC’ at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in 2017.
