Immersed in art from childhood, Célia Oneto Bensaid chose to express herself through the piano, an instrument with a rich repertoire. After receiving five prizes with the best distinctions at the Paris Conservatoire (in piano, vocal direction, vocal accompaniment, piano accompaniment and chamber music), she pursued her post-graduate degree with Rena Shereshevskaya at the École normale Alfred Cortot, from which she graduated with a Diplôme supérieur in concert performance. A Yamaha artist and winner of numerous international competitions (including Piano Campus, Fondation Banque Populaire, Fondation Cziffra and others) she plays with the Orchestre de la Garde républicaine and the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Toulon. She has been a guest artist at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Harbin Grand Theatre in China, at Wigmore Hall in London and festivals such as La Roque-d’Anthéron, La Folle Journée de Nantes, Piano aux Jacobins and Piano en Valois. She also performs abroad, in Europe as well as in the United States, Canada, Russia, China and Japan.
With a singular and committed personality, Célia carefully chooses the repertoire she champions and presents it openly in order to make it accessible : as a result, American music, French music, contemporary music and the music of female composers hold an important place in her programs. Very present on France Musique, Célia Oneto Bensaid was awarded the André Boisseaux Prize, which enabled her to record, for the label Soupir, a noteworthy first solo disc in 2018, American Touches, which included her own transcriptions of orchestral works by Bernstein and Gershwin.
Célia is the happy dedicatee and creator of several works by Camille Pépin, whose chamber music works she recorded in a NoMadMusic album widely awarded by the press in 2019.
